Our women-only Surf House in Peniche is set in the peaceful Sol Village area, just a short 300 metre walk from Cantinho da Baía beach, one of Baleal’s most reliable and welcoming surf spots. Surrounded by local cafés, bakeries, bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance (or a quick skate), it’s the perfect base for women looking to switch off, surf well, and fully immerse themselves in a supportive retreat environment on Portugal’s west coast.
The house is spread across three levels and has been thoughtfully designed to feel relaxed, social and effortlessly comfortable. Inside, you’ll find a spacious shared living area with satellite TV, two fully equipped communal kitchens, and a choice of rooms with shared or private bathrooms to suit your retreat style. Outside, a large sunny garden, cosy chill-out areas and outdoor barbecues create a welcoming space to connect, unwind and share stories after time in the ocean.

Our women-only Surf House in Peniche is set in the peaceful Sol Village area, just a short 300 metre walk from Cantinho da Baía beach, one of Baleal’s most consistent and user-friendly surf spots. Its central location makes it easy to walk or skate to nearby cafés, bakeries, bars and restaurants, creating a relaxed, safe and social base designed specifically for women travelling and surfing together.
The house itself is a charming Portuguese-style villa spread over three levels, created to feel calm, welcoming and never crowded. Inside, you’ll find light-filled communal spaces, a comfortable shared living room with TV, and two fully equipped kitchens that naturally bring everyone together. Outside, a large sunny garden offers space to unwind after surfing, whether that’s stretching, sharing a BBQ, journalling, or simply soaking up the coastal air.
Day to day, life on retreat flows with the ocean. Mornings begin by checking conditions and planning sessions as a group, followed by time in the water and easy afternoons back at the house or down on the beach. Evenings are unhurried and flexible, from cooking together and connecting in the garden to heading out locally for dinner or a relaxed drink.
Accommodation ranges from shared rooms to Plus and Deluxe options with private bathrooms, making the retreat ideal for solo travellers, friends, or women wanting a little extra comfort. With supportive on-site staff, daily housekeeping, high-speed WiFi and everything close by, this is your space to slow down, surf well, and fully settle into the Peniche surf lifestyle alongside like-minded women.
Need to know
The surf house is located just a short walk from the beach and close to local cafés, bakeries, restaurants, surf shops, and bars. Many guests choose to walk or skate between the house, the beach, and town.
Evenings are relaxed and flexible, whether that means cooking together at the house, heading out locally for food, or simply winding down after a full day in the water.
The surf house is open and accessible 24/7, with on site staff available to help during your stay. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house, and free parking can be found nearby. Laundry service is available on request for an additional fee.
The house is set up to be easy and low stress, allowing you to focus on surfing, relaxing, and enjoying your time in Baleal.
Surf lessons are available as part of the Surfaddict package, which includes one lesson per day (except arrival and departure days). Lessons last around two hours and are run in small groups, adapted to your surf level.
If you’re staying on the Freesurfer package, surf lessons are not included, but private or additional lessons can be added if you’d like coaching during your stay. This makes it a flexible option for surfers who want a mix of independence and support.
A wide range of surfboards is available, covering different shapes and sizes to suit ability and conditions. This includes beginner friendly boards as well as more performance-focused options. Wetsuits are also included when you book a surf package.
Optional surfboard insurance is available to cover accidental damage during use. Lost boards or missing equipment are not covered.
The Salty Sisters package is best suited to beginners and intermediate surfers who want daily coaching, structured sessions, and clear progression during their stay.
The Free surfer package is designed for intermediate and experienced surfers who prefer to surf independently, with full access to equipment and the option to add private lessons if needed.
