At Outer Reef Surf Camp Portugal Sintra, accommodation is built around the comfort and community of a surf house, with the option to choose a more private or more social setup. You can stay in a private room, a shared room, or (in summer) one of the safari style glamping tents, all designed to feel easy, welcoming, and comfortable.

Our Surf Camp Sintra is a surf house experience built around comfort, good routines and easy access to the coast. Set in the green Sintra area near Lisbon, it gives you a calm place to come back to after time in the ocean, with a laid back atmosphere that suits solo travellers, couples and friends alike.
Days are designed to feel simple and balanced. You can start with a proper breakfast, join the daily surf briefing, then head out for lessons and coached sessions that combine water time with surf theory and practical support. Back at camp, there is space to slow things down, whether that is stretching, relaxing by the pool, reading in the garden, or warming up indoors on cooler days with the fireplace and cosy shared spaces.
The weekly packages bring everything together: full board meals, surf lessons (Level 0 in the weekly pack), yoga hours built into the week, plus surf on land sessions and surf fitness to support progression. You also have free access to equipment, which makes it easy to stay active, build confidence and spend more time doing what you came for.
The overall vibe is friendly and easygoing, with small shared moments that make the stay feel special: post surf chats, relaxed meals, quiet evenings, and the feeling of being tucked into nature while still close to the energy of the coast and nearby towns.
Level 0 is suited to first time surfers or those who want to build strong foundations. Sessions focus on surf safety, understanding the beach environment and learning the basics of paddling, standing up and balancing on the board. The aim is to feel comfortable in the ocean and enjoy catching your first waves.
Level 1 is for surfers who already have some experience and are comfortable catching waves in white water. Coaching helps develop better timing, positioning and wave selection, supporting surfers as they become more consistent and confident in the water.
Level 2 is designed for surfers with solid board control who are ready to refine technique and surf unbroken waves with more confidence. Coaching focuses on reading conditions, improving flow and adapting to changing Atlantic surf.

By train: You can take the train from Rossio Station (Lisbon city centre) to Sintra. Trains typically run every 10 to 20 minutes and the journey is about 40 minutes. Pick up from Sintra station is available (see transfer list).
By bus: Buses run from Lisbon to Sintra (for example from Sete Rios or Rossio), and travel time depends on traffic.
By taxi: A taxi from Lisbon to the surf house is usually around 35€ to 40€ and takes roughly 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic.
By car: Free parking is available at the surf house.
