SURF & SUP SAFETY & RESCUE COURSE

If you are looking to work as a surf or SUP coach somewhere tropical or at home here in Wales, then this is the course you need! This award is suitable for those undertaking surf coaching and instruction activity and for surfboard hiring organisations. It aims to establish a minimum vocational standard that demonstrates a level of competence for the safety of participants under instruction during a coached surf activity session undertaken in primarily wading depth water. It establishes the necessary skills and knowledge to provide basic rescue response and life support.

These courses are not for the faint hearted! The training involves running, swimming and rescuing plus dragging casualties through the surf zone and up the beach using rescue boards. You will also learn about lifeguarding and first aid theory, basic life support, and spinal management.
